Isobrick Pen Stand
Excessively machined for pen enthusiasts
The ultimate home for your pens. Inspired by the isogrid lattices used in the aerospace industry.
Cleaning and care: Shoud your Isobrick ever become dirty, the Isobrick can be cleaned with hand soap and lukewarm water. A paper towel or soft towel can be used to gently scrub or dry it off if needed.

Introducing The Isobrick Pen Stand!
This CNC machined aluminum pen stand was designed for those who want to keep their favorite writing instruments organized, nearby, and desire a distinctive vessel to house them.
The Isobrick is not just a pen stand, but something closer to a piece of artwork you would display even if you have no pens to put in it.
What is an Isogrid?
"Iso" comes from the Greek isos, which means equal or same. Isochromatic would therefore mean "of a single color." Isogrid would therefore mean "equal grid," and it has this name since isogrids maintain isotropic properties (having the same physical properties). The isogrid, as it is known in the aerospace industry, is a triangular grid formation of ribs, which is an ideal way to increase the strength-to-weight ratio. It is usually an intensive process to create these triangular cutouts (NASA sometimes calls them "pockets"), but this lightening method is used on plenty of spaceships, jet engines, racecars and other high performance applications. NASA began using isogrids in the early 1970s. The isogrids are predominantly triangular, to keep the isotropic properties as much as possible. (isotropy isn't perfect)
Design & Precision Machining
We offer two versions of the Isobrick. The first is the Isobrick Pen Stand. This is designed to hold 6 pens. The second version is the Isobrick Mezzo, which is not designed to hold pens. It was created due to requests and it just is a neat machined piece of desk art.
The Isobrick Pen Stand incorporates an isogrid pattern, which is ubiquitous in the world of high performance aerospace applications. Machined from a solid block of aluminum, the Isobrick Pen Stand is closer to a component destined for a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor rather than a mere vessel to contain your writing instruments.
Unlike most pen holders which cover the pen, our unique use of the triangular lattice allows the pen to be seen while within the stand. This design decision requires multiple times more work, but it's worth it. Each triangular cutout can almost be considered equal to the vertical holes the pens stand in.
Embedded through the block is a series of non-metal, machined thermoplastic rings so your metal pen doesn't clank or get scratched.
All Isobricks are machined in the USA.
